Rescue Center
In Costa Rica, you won’t find zoos, but rather, sanctuaries dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating wildlife. Animals that have been injured by forces of nature, vehicles, or domestic animals are given expert care and, when possible, returned to their natural habitats. These centers provide an engaging and educational environment, fostering a deep respect for the animals and offering a meaningful way to contribute to their well-being.
- Duration: 2-3 hours
- Tour time: 8:30am – 1:30pm
- Minimum: 2 people
- Recommended ages: 11+
- Includes: entrance to the Rescue Center and a professional bilingual guide. *Request transportation for an extra fee.
- What to bring: binoculars, rubber boots, comfortable clothes, water bottle, Merlin/ eBird app downloaded, natural repellent
