My only regret is not visiting sooner! We had an amazing stay at Birds and Breakfast. The service was top-class and the atmosphere was incredibly warm. Parvati was so kind, guiding us to see different species around the area. The entire staff went above and beyond with local restaurant and activity recommendations. Highly recommended!

Favorite place we stayed on our family trip to Costa Rica. What a wonderful, unique experience at the edge of the Children’s Rainforest but away from the crowds. Rustic, comfortable, thoughtful accommodations and welcoming expert owners who showed us all kinds of local birds and wildlife. Great breakfasts too, with local birds flying by as you drink your coffee (toucans, hummingbirds, and much more). I suspect serious birders - which we aren’t yet - will enjoy even more.

We had a wonderful time here away from all the tourist crowds! The hosts were very friendly and gracious. Thanks Marcella for the birthday gift :) We really enjoyed their knowledge of the natural world and they helped us spot some rare birds we would never have found on our own. Plus there is that special secret waterfall on their property which was a special gem :)

We stayed here for one night with the intention of seeing birds. The service was excellent, they were very hospitable and friendly. We felt homely and welcome 😊 The rooms were clean and the air conditioning was good. Special thanks to Parvati who acted as our guide in the morning when we spotted birds. She knew a lot about the species and also told us about the plants and the history of the area. It felt like we were on a morning walk with a friend 🧡 We saw a little over 40 species if I remember correctly. I highly recommend it!
The breakfast was delicious!

Wonderful of the owners to share their home so others can enjoy their beautiful location. Even if you're not a 'birder' (like us) you will enjoy the multiple varieties in the surrounding vegetation and learn so much. Download the Costa Rica version of the Merlin bird app and just listen. Breakfast was delightful and the room was very comfortable and private. Excellent place for a stopover while traveling through Costa Rica.

This place will forever have our heart.
2 weeks ago, we were lucky enough to find this place at the start of our Costa Rica journey. It ended to be the best stay of our trip (while staying in 14 different places across the country)! Even while we spent multiple days in and around Corcovado.
The food is delicious.
The hosts are super sweet and helpful.
They have the cutest dogs.
The stay gives you a real jungle experience; from the exotic birds to the walks in the rainforest as their backyard.
Downside of the stay: you will end up comparing every lodge to this one.
PS: expect a few bugs here and there. It is part of the experience ;)

As birders and wildlife enthusiasts we found this place to be perfect! Walking distance to the Children’s Eternal Rain Forest and surrounded by trails on the property there are plenty of options to get out and see wild Costa Rica. Sloths, frogs, birds and more. The accommodations are lovely. Very very comfortable beds and pillow. The rooms were meticulously clean and breezy. Breakfast was delicious with options for all diets. We will definitely be back!!
